Due to her wit and humor, the world came to love the Rubenesque Mo’Nique, and without question she became a role model for all full-figured women around the world, proving that zaftig can be sexy.
But lately she has caused a stir in the plus size community, for going on a program intended to make her a little less curvy.

But to her defense, and apparently for the good of everyone around and not just women like her, the curvaceous comedienne insists that it is more for health reasons than anything else. Much as she would like to promote plus-size power, BBW Mo’Nique aims to emphasize health as well. "This was truly making the commitment to watch what I eat and commit to working out," she explains. "I stopped eating red meat. I want to say to big people, 'Let's be healthy big people. Everybody can't be a size 0, but let's be healthy.' "
