Zaftig Chenese Lewis is popularly known as the first woman to be crowned Miss Plus America, and is probably the person most active today in promoting positive body image. For her continuing and outstanding work she has been given the honorable title of Miss Plus America Lifetime, a lifetime achievement award which signifies a never-ending reign.

The full-figured celebrity is spokesperson for the “Love Your Body” Wristband Project, which isn’t just any ordinary wear-it-loud-and-proud accessory that boosts self-esteem for the wearer, but it also contributes a dollar from each wristband to organizations that foster self-acceptance and positive body image. In 2008 PLUS Model Radio was launched, with Rubenesque Chenese Lewis as host.
