Plus size Jennifer Hudson knows what grief and loss is all about. In October 2008, just about a month after being happily wedded to her husband David Otunga, Jennifer’s mother, brother and nephew were murdered all at once, which drove her on to launch the Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims.

Indeed, it should have been more than she could bear, yet in July 7, 2009, Jennifer Hudson appeared for Michael Jackson’s memorial service, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. As she sings poignantly to the latter’s hit “Will You Be There”, the performance was weighted with an uncanny symbolism: the celebrity proudly stound out with pregnant – a new life, after a death, the story of hope not lost. Jennifer Hudson is now a proud mother - with her son David Daniel Otunga Jr.
