Is Oprah Winfrey Losing Her Plus Size Touch?

Over the years, plus size Oprah Winfrey has collected many titles to her name, from CNN and Time’s “arguably the world’s most powerful woman,” to Life’s “most influential woman and the most influential black person of her generation.” But lately, the 23 year-old Oprah Winfrey Show has reflected a significant drop in its ratings. Which leads one to ask: Has the celebrity lost her touch?

The drop may have been caused by aired repeats, the July 4 holiday, the Wimbledon tourney or Michael Jackson’s demise, or something else altogether (no way, you’re not getting me to talk politics). But the plus size question is whether Oprah Winfrey’s show be suffering this kind of depression for long. Ironically, what’s made things worse is that just recently the Chicago Bomb and Arson Unit were called in to inspect a suspicious-looking backpack left outside the office of Harpo Productions. The group gave the all-clear, but couldn’t stop the bomb scare. Could they have helped pull up the ratings up though? One can only wonder.
