Plus Size Bras Won't Let You Down
Plus Size Bras
Fitting
Every woman should be
professionally fitted for a bra at least once every five years.
Some experts say it should be done every year to ensure your
bra size has not changed. Properly fitted plus size bras should
contain, support, and lift and shape the bust. They will also
be comfortable. If a professional fitting is not possible the
standard method of determining bra size is as
follows:
A) Measure around the chest,
just under the arms, above the bust. This is your BAND OR BODY
SIZE. If your measurement ends in a fraction or is an odd
number, round up to the next even size.
B) Measure around the fullest
point of the bust, keeping the tape level without pulling
tight. Refer to the chart below-- the difference between
measurements A & B equals your CUP SIZE.

When trying a bra on check the fit of the
band that goes across the ribcage and underneath the breasts.
Make sure the band is as snug around your ribs as you can stand
but doesn't restrict breathing.
Some further things to keep in mind when
purchasing a bra. Check the straps to see whether they lie flat
against your skin. Make sure the strap across the back doesn't
ride up, which will help determine the bra's support. If you're
spilling out of the bra, it's too small. If the material
wrinkles, it's too big.
Jump around while trying on the bra. If it
fits correctly, you shouldn't see much motion. Remember
to think of your activity level when selecting a bra. And the
more adjustable the bra is, the better the
fit.
As for sports bras- the encapsulation bra,
which works more like a regular bra with separate cups, works
better for larger-breasted women. They are generally best for
high-impact activities. The pullover model that flattens the
breasts to the body is best for smaller-busted
women.
Fabric should also be considered.
Bras made for dinner parties should be of different fabric and
cut than sports bras. Bras of polypropylene wick
perspiration away from the body, while all-cotton bras tend to
trap sweat. Silk can be comfortable, but prone to
stains. If you're prone to chafing, use Vaseline or a
fabric-friendly product between your skin and your bra.
For all fabrics you can prolong a bra’s life by hand-washing
and air-drying it.
Finally, don't buy a bra just because it's on sale. If it isn’t
comfortable, don't buy it
